NameBright Backend Redesign

Streamlined design using reusable components

NameBright.com is a domain name registrar offering domain registration, management, and related services. As the 6th largest registrar by total .com registrations under management, NameBright provides tools for individuals and businesses to efficiently manage their domains.

Redesigning the backend of NameBright involved optimizing databases, improving server performance, and restructuring code for better scalability and maintainability, along with an overhaul of the UI. I collaborated with a small team including designers, Angular developers, a scrum master, a product owner and founders on this project.

Domains have many settings that can be configured. Our challenge was to provide an interface that allows users to manage thousands of domains easily, while still making some of these features available on mobile.

My Domains

Users have the option to customize this table.

Customize Columns

Empty states feature images to break up the pattern, and we provide guidance for users looking for more information.

Empty State

Design system patterns and components enable this page to function similarly to the My Domains page.

My Category

Category settings can be customized.

Category Settings

We add images when users are presented with a feature they haven’t used before.

Transfers In

The design system provides a set of standardized components, guidelines, and best practices that help teams create consistent, scalable, and efficient user experiences.

Transfers Out

The My Account page provides users with a quick overview of their enabled settings.

My Account

Most settings are accessible within just 2 or 3 clicks.

2FA

The NameBright Marketplace allows domain owners to sell their domains.

Marketplace

Users can manage their domain listings from any device. While most tasks are expected to be completed on the desktop version, sellers can still modify a pending sale on a mobile device upon receiving an offer.

Once the UI was done, I wrote the content for a Help Center to guide people on how to manage their domains properly. I created articles, tooltips, and improved the error messages on the site. This content was integrated into the Contentful CMS platform.
